Is my guinea pig happy?
I have only had my guinea pig 3days, when she has the front house on her cage she runs and hides and rarely comes out when I am around.
During the day I take this part off her cage and give her a log bridge to hide under and some toys, she seems a lot more inquisitive during this time and runs around pop-corning eating from her hay rack and hiding under her log bridge every now and again when she has the other under cover bit on her cage she never does this she just hides there does anyone know why?
I have also been using the towel trick when holding her which she seems to like. After I have been holding her a while she starts to close her eyes and squeak softly then runs around pop-corning when I put her back in her cage. She also takes food and treats from my hand is this all a sign that she is happy?
its just because the guinea pig hasn't settled in yet . leave it for a few days so it will get used to its surroundings then take it out and maybe give it some carrot and pet it gently so it will get used to u and will look forward to seeing you the next time it may take some time but it is worth it
